Sitka top, Highly Flamed carved back, sides, and neck, normal honest wear for a 30+year old guitar. The tuners have been upgraded to Gotoh 510 locking tuners as you can see in the photo, the originals Grover Imperial tuners are in the OHSC case. Also, the bridge has been greatly improved to a tune-o-matic bridge with black Tusq saddles, the original rosewood one was beat and just wasn’t in good shape at all, there was no reason to even keep it. Lastly, the pickgurd is the original however it was sanded back out, stained dark like you would see on todays models, only flamed maple instead of rosewood. Now down to brass tax, this guitar is awesome and is exactly what it is supposed to be, there are some scratches sure, but the lacquer is sunk in to the wood, which only happens over time. When plugged in, it sounds every bit as good as my dad’s Benedetto, if I were in a different room listening I wouldn’t know the difference. This is the perfect working guitar for a professional jazz musician or student of jazz. The Neck has that old time Gibson L-5 feel it’s absolutely perfect!
