Description

1943 Martin D-28 Herringbone in absolutely, "Find another one this nice" exceptionally fine condition. It's hard to find evidence that this guitar was ever played. The original lacquer finish shows almost no signs of wear, anywhere. The original Waverly tuners still shine and show no signs of tarnish. The Adirondack spruce top, with rear-shifted bracing, is tightly grained and nearly flawless if it weren't for a small (repaired) crack next to the pickguard. The braces are scalloped by the way. The back and sides are gorgeous straight-grained Brazilian rosewood with that beautiful color that only seems to come with rosewood from Brazil. The "V" shaped neck is the perfect size, not too big, not too small, and easy to play. Usually guitars this clean don't sound stellar but this thing's a cannon. This guitar has the textbook sound that these early D-28s are so renown for. A stunning guitar and another this clean probably won't be seen for quite a long time. This guitar comes with a Hoffee hardshell flight case.
