The Fender Broadcaster: the first production solidbody electric guitar. Somewhere between 200 to 250 Broadcasters were made by Fender in 1950 and early 1951. One of the mindblowing things about the Broadcaster is how right they were from the beginning. Today's modern production Telecaster is not significantly different from Fender's original flagship model of 75 years ago. This guitar is in very good condition. The neck was refinished by Tom Murphy in the 90s. The body was refinished before the neck was refinished, and by whom is not known. Both refins look great now with some natural age and playing patina on them. The guitar plays great thanks to a recent refret and a new bone nut. The original pickups sound great as well; some killer classic Tele tones to be found here. The original pots needed to be replaced and we've placed them in the case. The original "Sealed/Closed back" Kluson tuners are also in the case. Our repair shop aged a new set of Kluson reproductions and they look great on the guitar. The original bridge cover, or "Ashtray" with the solder dollop is also in the case. The guitar has the earliest version of the "Milled" output jack cup and the string tree is the early version seen on Broadcasters and Nocasters. The original CRL switch with the original Dakaware bakelite switch tip is also present. The guitar comes in it's original "Thermometer" hard case which is in excellent condition.
