Founded at the start of the 20th century, Armand Rousseau is a leading Burgundy producer, currently managed by Eric Rousseau with the assistance of his daughter Cyriell. The Domaine is based in Gevrey-Chambertin and consists of approximately 15 hectares, over half of which is situated in Grand Cru sites. This release is from the Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jacques, where Rousseau owns a 2.2-hectare plot. The 1999 vintage in Burgundy is widely considered to be an outstanding year. The growing season was favourable, with a warm summer and well-timed rain, allowing the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness.
