Description

Founded in 1994 by Manfred and Elaine Krankl, Sine Qua Non is perhaps the most famous of all the California cult wineries and is renowned for producing exceptionally limited quantities of wines made from the classic varieties of the Rhône Valley. Even rarer still are their dry singular varietal Chardonnays, of which there have just been two releases. The 2012 Pearl Clutcher comes entirely from the highly acclaimed Bien Nacido vineyard and was aged for 19 months in 92% new French oak barrels. Just two barrels were produced.

About this wine

The 2012 Pearl Clutcher by Sine Qua Non is an exemplary Chardonnay, embodying the winery's talent for creating deeply complex and character-rich white wines. This vintage highlights a perfect balance of richness, acidity, and minerality. The 2012 Pearl Clutcher boasts notes of crisp green apple, pear, toasted brioche, and a hint of hazelnut, complemented by a creamy texture and a long, mineral-driven finish.
