Description

Domaine Jacky Truchot-Martin was a wine producer based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, crafting a number of low-intervention Pinot Noir wines from local vineyards. Unfortunately, Jacky decided to retire after the 2005 vintage and sold all except one of his vineyards to fellow winemaker David Duband through an investor. His wines have now become very scarce and highly sought-after by collectors, such as this 1996 ‘Clos de la Roche’. The 1996 vintage produced a large crop of extremely healthy grapes, with high sugars, excellent acidity and deep colours. Ready to drink now.

About this wine

The 1996 Clos de la Roche by Domaine Jacky Truchot is an exquisite example of Burgundy Pinot Noir. The vintage was characterized by a long growing season that led to wines of great balance, with notable acidity and structure, poised for long aging. This wine, specifically, captures the essence of its Grand Cru vineyard with remarkable depth, concentration, and a bouquet that unfolds with time. Notes of cherries, earth, and spices, with a firm structure and a finish that lingers. Shows significant potential for further aging.
