Description

Montrachet often stands high above all other white Burgundy crus in terms of quality, complexity and longevity. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s holdings consist of three parcels in the Le Montrachet lieu-dit in Chassagne-Montrachet, totalling just 0.68 hectares surface area with vines that are, on average, 50 years of age. Of the eight grand cru wines that DRC makes, this has the smallest production and is, therefore, often the rarest bottling. In 2019, Antonio Galloni (Vinous Media) described the 2009 as “radiant, alluring and arrestingly beautiful”.
