Description

This is an extremely rare bottle of 1933 Château Margaux which is now 90 years old. The year was marked by the end of the increasingly unpopular prohibition of alcohol in the US, which lasted for long 13 years. As for Bordeaux, harvest was pushed back to October 10th as winemakers waited for the fruit to ripen. It produced elegant, light wines on the whole, with beautiful aromatics.

About this wine

The 1933 vintage of Château Margaux, marked as 'Low Fill' due to its reduced volume in the bottle, likely due to evaporation through the cork over decades. This vintage is a testament to the longevity and evolving complexity of the wines from Château Margaux. Though specific notes for this vintage are rare, Château Margaux wines from this era are often celebrated for their rich fruit, depth of flavor, and silky, well-integrated tannins, evolving with notes of leather, tobacco, and truffles with age.
