Description

This exceptional champagne comes from two Grand Cru parcels of old Pinot Noir vines that grow on their own original root stocks. These walled vineyards, Chaudes Terres and Clos St Jacques, both located in Aÿ near the Bollinger cellars, stand as a testament to a bygone era when vines were cultivated through a practice known as layering, reminiscent of pre-phylloxera methods. The vines here yield low quantities of fruit of the utmost quality, resulting in one of the most luxurious cuvées. The 2012 Vieilles Vignes Françaises saw only 2,193 bottles produced, each carefully numbered.

About this wine

The 2012 Vieilles Vignes Françaises is a symbol of Bollinger’s dedication to excellence, crafted exclusively from ancient Pinot Noir vines. This vintage is celebrated for its extraordinary balance, complexity, and depth, with a limited production that makes it highly sought after by connoisseurs. The 2012 vintage exhibits a rich golden hue, with a bouquet of ripe fruit, toasted almonds, and hints of honey. On the palate, it reveals a beautiful complexity, with flavors of quince, brioche, and a subtle minerality, leading to a long, refined finish.
