Description

Clos Saint-Denis was a church-owned vineyard during the Middle Ages, belonging to the Collégiale de St-Denis de Vergy. Today, the 6.6-hectare Grand Cru is shared by almost 20 owners, including high-profile producers such as Maison Louis Jadot, Domaine Ponsot, Joseph Drouhin and the prestigious Domaine Dujac with 1.30 hectares. This is their release from 1997, a vintage which presented attractive red wines from day one. Expect a very attractive nose, including aromas of red cherries, strawberries, plums, a touch of spices and smoke. On the palate, this is a mature, well-balanced Pinot Noir, with a silky texture and firm acidity.
