Description

The late Henri Jayer was regarded as one of the greatest Burgundy winemakers of his generation. Born in Vosne-Romanée in 1922, he began producing wines under his own label in the 1950s. This is a rare magnum of his 1996 ‘Cros Parantoux’, the prestigious premier cru vineyard, where Jayer acquired his first parcels in 1951. Beautifully perfumed and structured, the wine reveals a complex array of fresh and maturing red cherry and berry on the nose and palate, leading to a long, lingering finish.
