Description

Established in 1948, Domaine François Raveneau is one of Chablis`s finest producers, with a cult following all over the world. The estate comprises eight hectares of land spread across three Grand Cru and six Premier Cru sites. All the grapes are harvested manually, one of the very few remaining producers in Chablis to do so. This release comes from Montée de Tonnerre, a Premier Cru where the grapes ripen easily, especially since they are protected from the East winds. While the 2011 vintage in Chablis presented its share of challenges, it still produced wines with refreshing acidity, vibrant fruit, and a distinct Chablisienne character.

About this wine

This exceptional wine from Domaine François Raveneau comes from the Premier Cru vineyard Montee de Tonnerre in Chablis. The 2011 vintage is celebrated for its fine balance between minerality and rich fruit flavors. Even with a damaged capsule, the wine itself remains a testament to the high standards of the Raveneau estate. This Chablis expresses a perfect harmony of citrus fruits, green apple, and a distinct flinty minerality, wrapped in a creamy texture that leads to a long, elegant finish.

The Montee de Tonnerre is one of the most well-regarded Premier Cru vineyards in Chablis, known for its exceptional Chardonnay that combines minerality with rich fruit complexities. Wines from this vineyard are celebrated for their balance, elegance, and aging potential.
