Álvaro Palacios has quickly come to be recognised as one of Spain’s greatest winemakers. With a focus on local varieties from exceptionally old, low-yielding vines, he is consistently crafting some of the country’s finest wines. The 2017 vintage is a Garnacha-dominant blend but with a notable 20% Cariñena and 2% white grapes. A gloriously expressive and red-fruited wine, with refined tannins, beautiful precision and a long finish. Sold in hedonistic 900cl format.

The 2017 L'Ermita is a testament to the extraordinary conditions of the vintage in Priorat. Crafted from old-vine Garnacha, it reveals layers of dark fruit, minerality, and nuanced oak influences, culminating in a wine that balances power with elegance. Rich and concentrated, with a deep garnet color. Aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, and hints of violet. On the palate, it offers a robust structure, intricate layers of fruit and mineral flavors, and a long, satisfying finish.

L'Ermita is Alvaro Palacios' flagship wine, heralded as one of the most prestigious and acclaimed wines from Spain. Sourced from a small vineyard in the village of Gratallops, it is predominantly made from very old vine Garnacha, with a small percentage of Carignan. L'Ermita is known for its immense concentration, complexity, and elegance, embodying the essence of Priorat.

Alvaro Palacios is one of Spain's most renowned winemakers, having played a pivotal role in elevating the Priorat wine region to its current prestigious status. Born into a wine family in Rioja, he ventured into Priorat in 1989, where he began his singular quest to produce some of Spain's most expressive and iconic wines.
