Description

Jacques Selosse Millesime 1999 is a vintage blanc de blancs Champagne from the legendary Domaine Jacques Selosse in Avise. Domaine Jacques Selosse only produces 57,000 bottles of Champagne each year, a small portion of which is released as a single vintage. The Millesime cuvée uses Chardonnay grapes from vineyards in Avize, Le Mont de Cramant and Les Chantereines. "The Selosse heavily oxidative style works wonderfully well with the Extra Brut category because it helps to cut the extreme richness and bring focus and detail. I was highly impressed by the layering of the yeasty and slightly citrus-infused nose that is very much in keeping with the rich, full-bodied and naturally sweet flavours that turn bone-dry on the sappy, deep and hugely long finish. This is very vinous in character and the effervescence seems almost incidental. Terrific juice that could be drunk now or aged for a long time." Burghound, 2009
