Description

Jacky Truchot`s wines are truly legendary among Burgundy lovers for focused and old-style expressions of their terroir. Sadly, Jacky Truchot decided to retire after the 2005 vintage and sold all except one of his vineyards to fellow winemaker David Duband through an investor. His wines have now become very scarce and highly sought-after by collectors, such as this 1995 ‘Clos de la Roche’. An early frost and cool June weather severely reduced the size of the 1995 crop, but the wines turned out very good indeed.

About this wine

The 1995 vintage of Clos de la Roche by Domaine Jacky Truchot is a testament to the excellence of Burgundy’s Grand Cru vineyards and Truchot’s winemaking philosophy. This Pinot Noir showcases the depth, complexity, and elegance that Clos de la Roche wines are renowned for, offering a unique and memorable tasting experience. Characterized by its vivid ruby color, the wine exudes aromas of ripe red fruits, cherries, and a hint of earthiness. On the palate, it balances fruitiness with notes of spice, fine tannins, and a long, nuanced finish.
