The estate was originally founded in 1863 by Frédéric Mugnier, a liquor-maker from Dijon and had been based at the Château de Chambolle-Musigny ever since. This expression comes from Les Amoureuses, a prestigious Premier Cru where Mugnier owns a small holding of 0.53 hectares.
