Description

With a long history going back to the 15th century, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is one of the finest producers in the Côte de Nuits. The estate is currently led by the sisters Comtesse Claire de Causans and Marie de Ladoucette, with Jean Lupatelli as chef de cave and Jean-Luc Pépin looking after sales and marketing. The 1993 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is surprisingly fresh right now, offering notes of red berries, violets, forest floor and a touch of chocolate. The wine can be enjoyed now but still has a long way to go.

About this wine

The 1993 Bonnes Mares from Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is a remarkable vintage of this Grand Cru Pinot Noir. With its complex bouquet, structured palate, and lengthy finish, it captures the essence of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated vineyards. This wine exhibits a deep ruby color, with a nose of ripe cherries, blackberries, a hint of earthiness, and subtle oak. On the palate, it offers lush fruit flavors, balanced acidity, and fine tannins, leading to a long, satisfying finish.
