Description

Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet 2011 is a Grand Cru white Burgundy from one of the most-prized Chardonnay vineyard plots in the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Leflaive Grands Crus can be powerful yet austere when young and often require 10 to 15 years of ageing to show their true colours. Leflaive has been certified biodynamic since 1997. "An ultra-elegant, pure and strikingly expressive nose of airy and intensely spicy acacia blossom, wet stone, lemon peel and various white-fleshed fruit aromas. There is a lilting mouth feel to the gorgeously intense, precise and cuts-like-a-knife medium weight plus flavoors that brim with mineral and an abundance of dry extract that coats the palate on the hugely long finish. The balance is impeccable and this will be one of the relatively few 2011s that should amply reward longer-term cellaring." Burghound, 2013

About this wine

The 2011 Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru represents a superb expression of Chardonnay from one of Burgundy's most celebrated vineyards. Crafted with meticulous care by Domaine Leflaive, this vintage illustrates the harmony between terroir and the biodynamic principles that guide the domain's viticulture. Offering a rich pallet of aromas, from ripe citrus to delicate floral notes, underpinned by a minerally depth and elegant oak integration, it promises a remarkable tasting journey. This wine reveals layers of citrus, pear, and white flowers, balanced with a minerally depth and light vanilla, toasted almond from oak aging. Acidity and structure suggest excellent aging potential.
