Description

Based in Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine Dujac is one of the very finest producers in Burgundy. Dujac was founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses, son of a successful biscuit manufacturer, and it is now run by Jacques’ two sons, Jérémy and Alec, and his daughter-in-law Diana. This is their 2003 Clos Saint-Denis, a grand cru vineyard that lies between the village of Morey-Saint-Denis to the south and Gevrey-Chambertin to the north, where the slope is very steep. The 2003 vintage will always be remembered by its exceptional heatwave which presented pleasant surprises while maturing in bottle.

About this wine

The 2003 Clos Saint-Denis from Domaine Dujac is a remarkable exemplar of Burgundy’s Grand Cru Pinot Noir. A standout vintage, the wine exhibits rich, lush fruit balanced by a refined structure and earthy undertones. Aging has brought out secondary aromas and tastes of dried fruits, mushrooms, and coffee, complementing its inherent dark cherry and raspberry notes. Rich dark cherry and raspberry core, complemented by hints of dried fruits, mushrooms, and a touch of coffee. Excellent balance and depth with a long, sophisticated finish.
