Description

Domaine Coche-Dury Corton Hospices de Beaune Cuvée Dr Peste 2020 is a Grand Cru Burgundy Pinot Noir produced by Coche-Dury for the internationally acclaimed Hospices de Beaune charitable wine auction. Dr Jean-Louis Peste was a doctor at the Hospices de Beaune for 30 years in the mid-19th century. His daughter, Baroness du Baÿ, bequeathed a vast estate to the Hôtel-Dieu in his memory, in 1924. Historically, this cuvée comes from a blend of terroirs, mainly Les Chaumes, completed with Les Bressandes and Les Grèves.

About this wine

A highly revered wine from Domaine Coche-Dury, this cuvée from the 2020 vintage exemplifies the richness, complexity, and elegance that are characteristic of the Corton Grand Cru vineyard. Crafted from Pinot Noir grapes, this wine offers profound depth, with layers of fruit, earth, and spice that unfold beautifully over time. This wine presents a rich palette of aromas, including ripe red berries, cherries, earthy undertones, and a hint of oak spice. On the palate, it is well-structured with a balance of acidity and tannins, leading to a long, elegant finish.

Corton

The Corton collection represents a range of Grand Cru wines from the Corton hill, known for its exceptional Pinot Noir. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's Corton is a relatively recent addition to its prestigious lineup, showcasing the unique terroir of the largest Grand Cru in Burgundy.
