Founded in 1962 by Alain Hudelot, Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat covers 10 hectares spread over 4 villages and 15 appellations. Today, it’s run by his grandson Charles van Canneyt, who took over in 2008. This particular release is from Romanée-Saint-Vivant, a grand cru vineyard where Hudelot-Noëllat owns a 0.48-hectare parcel. The 1996 vintage has entered a good drinking window, brimming with sweet scents of black cherries and berries patted down with spices and a touch of umami. This is a wine with staying power.
