Description

Domaine Leroy was formed in 1988 when Lalou Bize-Leroy acquired the estate of Charles Noëllat in Vosne-Romanée and subsequently Philippe-Rémy’s property in Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, Domaine Leroy owns approximately 23 hectares, including impressive holdings in nine Grands Crus and eight Premier Crus. It is the second largest owner of Richebourg – after Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – with approximately 0.78 hectares of vines. 2009 was a particularly good vintage for red Burgundy, producing well-structured wines with rich, luscious fruit.

About this wine

The 2009 vintage of Richebourg Domaine Leroy, despite its damaged label, represents a stellar year for Burgundy wines, showcasing an exceptional balance of richness, acidity, and tannic structure. This wine is a testament to the domaine's philosophy of low-intervention winemaking and meticulous attention to detail, from vine to bottle. The 2009 Richebourg Domaine Leroy offers a mesmerizing bouquet of ripe cherries, blackberries, violets, and subtle hints of underbrush and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a velvety texture and a complex layering of dark fruit, earthy tones, and a lingering, elegant finish.
