Vérité was founded in 1997 by the late visionary Jess Jackson and long-time Bordeaux vigneron, Pierre Seillan. In just over 20 years, the winery has managed to forge a reputation for itself as one of the most consistent producers of elite level fine wine in California. They produce just three wines, La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir, all of which are based on the traditional varieties of Bordeaux.Le Désir is inspired by the wines of St-Émilion and is a celebration of Cabernet Franc. To that end, the 2009 is composed of 74% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec. It is harmonious, silky and refined, with immense mineral complexity and superb underlying power.

The 2009 Vérité Le Désir is a testament to the exceptional quality of the Sonoma County terroir, showcasing a meticulously crafted blend led by Cabernet Franc. This vintage stands out for its structure, depth, and aromatic complexity, presenting layers of dark fruit, spice, and nuanced earthy undertones, culminating in a graceful, long finish. The 2009 Le Désir offers a rich bouquet of dark berries, cassis, and chocolate, with hints of violet and spice. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied, layered complexity, seamless tannins, and a long, elegant finish. Highly rated by critics, including scores above 95 points from major wine publications.

Le Désir celebrates the finesse and elegance of Sonoma County with a focus on Cabernet Franc. It represents one of the three flagship Bordeaux-inspired blends from Vérité, distinguished by its complexity and depth, often compared to the finest offerings from Saint-Émilion.
