Description

Heitz Cellars is the iconic Napa Valley winery founded in 1961 by Joe and Alice Heitz. It is best known for its single vineyard wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon, and in particular the Martha`s Vineyard wine, the first vintage of which was 1966. This 35-year-old expression is drinking very nicely now. On the nose, expect red and black fruits, wet leaves, herbs, black pepper, light wood and dark coffee. The palate combines blueberries, plums, cherries, oak, liquorice, spices and coffee. Available here in a magnum bottle.

About this wine

The 1987 vintage of Heitz Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum is a testament to the quality and uniqueness of the vineyard. This exceptional wine showcases the classic minty character associated with Martha’s Vineyard, coupled with rich fruit flavors and a well-structured palate. Notes of mint, blackcurrant, cedar, and chocolate lead into a palate that is both powerful and refined, with a long, lingering finish. Highly acclaimed by wine critics, often scoring above 90 points in wine ratings.
