Description

Originally founded in 1978, Domaine Jacky Truchot-Martin was a 6-hectare estate with vineyards in three Burgundy appellations. Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. In the winery, Truchot adopted a minimal-intervention approach, and his wines were rarely fined, filtered or sulphured. The business closed down after Jacky Truchot decided to retire in 2005 and since then his wines have become very rare and highly sought-after. This is the 1997 vintage of the domaine’s Charmes-Chambertin, made from old vines of Pinot Noir. With a pronounced earthy character and incredible vivacity, this is a superb expression for a rather uneven vintage.
