Miguel Angel de Gregorio, the proprietor of Finca Allende, grew up in Rioja and was heavily influenced by his father, who was the head viticulturist at the Ygay estate of Marques de Murrieta. He established his own project in 1994 and has since become known as one of the finest winemakers in the region. The 2010 Aurus is a blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano from old vines in the village of Briones with delicious notes of black fruits, raisins, coffee, liquorice, exotic spices and subtle balsamic hints. Considered one of the finest ever releases, this is a beautifully deep, expressive and elegant wine now entering its prime drinking window.

The 2010 Aurus is a testament to the exceptional conditions of the vintage, showcasing the harmony between power and elegance. Crafted from the estate's oldest Tempranillo and Graciano vines, it undergoes meticulous vinification and extended aging to achieve a profound complexity and graceful aging capability. Aurus

Aurus is one of the most prestigious and limited-production wines from Finca Allende. Crafted from very old, low-yielding Tempranillo and Graciano vines, Aurus is only produced in exceptional vintages. It represents the pinnacle of the estate's efforts to express the unique terroir of Rioja. The wine undergoes extensive aging in French oak and is known for its complexity, depth, and longevity.

Finca Allende

Finca Allende, the brainchild of winemaker Miguel Angel de Gregorio, is one of the most forward-thinking wineries in Rioja. The estate is situated in the hill town of Briones in the heart of Rioja Alta, where the region's most historic vineyard sites are located. The winery was founded in 1995, with its first release in 1996. De Gregorio's philosophy is that wine is made in the vineyard and he thus places paramount importance on meticulous attention to the care of the vines. Modern winemaking techniques are then employed in the cellar to produce wines that express the full potential of grape varieties native to Rioja.
