Domaine Bizot Vosne-Romanée 2013 is a village Burgundy Pinot Noir from the hallowed commune of Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits. A professor of viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Jean-Yves Bizot works with the most exacting standards both in the vineyard and the cellar. Planted with a large proportion of old vines, his vineyard holdings are farmed organically. He ferments his Pinot Noirs with whole clusters, eschewing the use of sulphur during vinification and élevage. Bizot`s Pinot Noirs require considerable maturation time before they reach their peak of expression - from his Grand Cru Échézeaux to his village-level wines. His Vosne-Romanée is a blend of four different plots within the village. Les Communes, Les Jardins, Les Colombières, and Les Saules. "Quite dense crimson. Very savoury with some oak in evidence but, gosh, its awfully nice oak. Really quite serious stuff with nice lift. Racy on the end and good authentic rigour on the way there. Lots of energy. It builds on the end." Jancis Robinson MW, 2014
