Owned and run by the legendary Lalou Bize-Leroy, Maison Leroy is one strand of the Leroy group, which also includes Domaine Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay. The négociant business which is based in Auxey-Duresses was originally founded in 1868 by François Leroy, winemaker and owner of vines in prime sites such as Meursault, Pommard, Chambertin, Musigny, Clos Vougeot and Richebourg. This is a very rare bottle of Grands-Echézeaux from 1959, an abundant and highly successful vintage in Burgundy and many regions of France.
