Founded in 1851, Charles Heidsieck is one of the most admired Champagne houses thanks to the unrivalled and consistently high quality of its wines. The House’s prestige cuvée from 1979 to 1985, ‘Champagne Charlie’ was named for the House’s enigmatic founder. This rare 1985 vintage is produced from 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir from 100% Grand and Premier Cru vineyard sites. On the nose, elegant layers of dried fruit, citrus peel and toasted nuts. On the palate, dried apricot and brioche notes, gentle nuttiness and a refreshing saline finish.
