Description

With Brice de la Morandière at the helm, Domaine Leflaive is one of the most highly-acclaimed estates in Burgundy. It incorporates 22ha of vineyards, including an envy-inducing 10ha of Premiers Crus and 5ha of prized Grands Crus. Under the stewardship of the late Anne-Claude Leflaive, the domaine became a pioneer in biodynamic farming in the region, achieving full conversion in 1997.The Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is produced from 3 parcels totalling 1.8ha that were planted between 1955 and 1980. All fruit is meticulously sorted and hand-harvested in the vineyard, followed by fermentation in mostly seasoned oak casks and maturation for 12 months. This release is from the vastly underrated 2006 vintage and should be absolutely perfectly in its optimal drinking window.
