Vérité was founded in 1997 by the late visionary Jess Jackson and long-time Bordeaux vigneron, Pierre Seillan. In just over 20 years, the winery has managed to forge a reputation for itself as one of the most consistent producers of elite level fine wine from Sonoma County, California. They produce just three wines - La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir - all of which are based on the traditional varieties of Bordeaux.Le Désir was first produced in the year 2000 and is an homage to the fragrant and opulent wines of St-Émilion. From the slightly cooler 2011 vintage, this is a compellingly aromatic, sleek and elegant blend of 54% Cabernet Franc, 36% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec.

The 2011 Le Désir is a testament to the resilience and meticulous craftsmanship of Vérité's winemaking. Despite challenging weather conditions in 2011, this vintage shines with grace, offering a harmonious blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It unfolds with layers of dark fruit, spice, and subtle earthy undertones, enveloped in beautifully integrated tannins. Dark fruit, spice, velvet tannins, with a nuanced earthy background. Numerous accolades and high ratings from wine critics.

Le Désir celebrates the finesse and elegance of Sonoma County with a focus on Cabernet Franc. It represents one of the three flagship Bordeaux-inspired blends from Vérité, distinguished by its complexity and depth, often compared to the finest offerings from Saint-Émilion.
