Description

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is the iconic Burgundy estate that produces some of the most exclusive and sought-after wines in the world. The estate is co-owned by two families, the de Villaine and the Leroy, with Alexandre Bernier in place as cellar master following the retirement of Bernard Noblet in 2018. DRC only produces grand cru wines, including this Richebourg, made from a 3.51-hectare parcel. This is a rare magnum bottle of the 2001 vintage, a very good year for Burgundy overall. The nose bursts with summer berries and cherries, complemented by baking spices and black tea leaves. The palate is rich and concentrated, but weightless at the same time.

About this wine

The 2001 Richebourg from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti showcases the exquisite terroir of the Richebourg grand cru vineyard with a complex array of flavors and a remarkable aging potential. Displays a rich tapestry of cherry, blackberry, earth, and spice, with a silky texture and profound depth, finished with long, mineral-driven aftertaste. Specific awards for the 2001 vintage may vary, but DRC's Richebourg is globally celebrated for its excellence.
