It is a blend of 90.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8.5% Merlot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc and 0.5% Petit Verdot with 14.4% ABV. The nose is incredibly nuanced, suggesting aromas of black currants, Cuban cigars, herbs, floral and maritime elements. On the palate, the wine coats your mouth with powerful layers of creamy, regal fruits with a touch of sea salt. Very enjoyable now but another decade in the bottle will create an even more complex tasting experience.

Château Latour has a rich history dating back several centuries. It has been producing wine since at least the 14th century and was officially established as a vineyard estate in the 17th century. It has remained a benchmark for quality Bordeaux wines throughout its history. The estate comprises approximately 78 hectares (190 acres) of vineyards, planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes. The vineyards are situated on well-drained gravelly soils, which are ideal for growing high-quality grapes. Château Latour produces several wines, with its Grand Vin being the most famous and prestigious. The Grand Vin of Château Latour is known for its power, structure, and longevity. It is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon-based, with varying percentages of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot depending on the vintage. Château Latour is classified as a First Growth (Premier Cru) in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. This classification recognizes it as one of the top wine estates in Bordeaux, along with Château Margaux, Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Haut-Brion, and Château Mouton Rothschild.
