Description

Guigal is one of the most renowned producers in Côte Rôtie and holds a distinguished status in the Rhône Valley. Established in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, the estate played a pioneering role in the concept of single-vineyard Côte Rôtie wines. His three most celebrated wines, La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque, rank among the world`s most coveted wines today. The 1989 La Landonne currently shines at its peak. It exhibits a vivid blend of black and blue fruits, underscored by red fruit notes and even subtle hints of tropical fruit, such as banana. The wine showcases exceptional structure and body while maintaining an almost weightless quality on the palate, delivering a smooth and enjoyable drinking experience. Impressively, the tannins are still present, albeit not overly gripping, providing a finishing edge.
