Hillside Select is the flagship wine of iconic Napa Valley producer, Shafer Vineyards and is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from 14 rugged vineyard blocks planted on an amphitheatre-shaped piece of land that surrounds the winery. The 2005 is astonishing release and is certainly a candidate for one of the finest ever iterations of this wine. It is an immense expression of Cabernet, with immaculate fruit quality, extraordinary savoury depth and remarkable harmony of intensity, structure and freshness. A timeless class, this is a beautiful wine to drink now but will certainly continue to evolve.
