Description

365 pp. 8vo, publisher's red cloth in dust jacket. Third printing; in a later dust jacket not seen by Garrison (the cover illustration is very muted in color). Ink ownership signature; otherwise a very good copy with some rubbing to edges, corners and joints and some light fading to the bottom 2" of the spine. The jacket is almost certainly supplied from another copy. The jacket has a 1" closed tear at the bottom of the front panel, and some very light soiling. Quite an attractive copy.

About Age of Innocence

The Age of Innocence, written by Edith Wharton, is a novel that focuses on an upper-class couple's impending marriage and the introduction of a controversial cousin in 1870s New York. It explores the social intricacies and rituals of the high society of the time, and it provides a critical view of the social strictures that dictate behavior, particularly regarding marriage and loyalty.
