Contents clean without signs of ownership. Some light spotting within, inside paper joint lightly cracked at front, covers with a few minor marks and a little rubbing/wear to spine ends. A near fine copy. A foundational theoretical text in materialist philosophy, and one of the most influential works in modern political and economic thought. This is the fifth British edition (January 1896), reprinting the text of the first, which was issued in two volumes in 1886. This edition is also the final British printing of the nineteenth century and is desirable thus.
