The Sanctuary Bookshop

65 Broad Street, Lyme Regis, England, DT7 3QF, United Kingdom (Map)
Ours is a cozy and welcoming shop. Warm and comfortable and friendly. This is a shop that Jane Austen, Dickens, or even Darwin would have enjoyed. Follow us on our bookshop Diary. We are twenty-five years old this year. We can be found in central Lyme Regis, in the Town Square, just opposite the Town Clock. There is ample WDDC parking adjacent at £2.00 for one hour. Free: 6.00 pm to 8.00 am and all Day Sunday. We first opened our doors in August 1997 having moved from South Kensington. We now have ten rooms of books on four floors, a good range of Beryl Cook Cards & Prints, artwork by Hundertwasser, Erte, and local artist Brian Matravers. Also Cat Art by Ollie Lett and a good stock from the Belmont Library of John Fowles. We also have a very good stock of quality paperback literature, a downstairs reading room with comfortable armchairs, a floor of books mostly £1.50 or less, a second bookroom on the ground floor (formerly Lighthouse Books) and, if desired, some overnight accommodation for book lovers. Take a look at us on www.ex-lib.com, or contact us at books@sanctuarybookshop.co.uk, because we offer free book valuations, book repairs, and an on-the-spot book search service (or by telephone or email, should you be unable to get to us), all free.
