What an absolute delight to offer to the market "Guenevere this Queen" of a Yacht this 2 masted Gaff Schooner
First time For sale in 20 years and this is something else and what a Liveaboard opportunity that she presents.
Guenevere was built at Maylands in 1974. She was built by a professor of Mathematics at UWA with a view to an Antarctic cruise so her hull is very strong. She is built as a Joanne design of Herreschoff of Boston, with an added counter stern and a cockpit entry to below added. I added wheel steering through a quadrant. The interior is Queensland Beech and Jarrah. There is a new engine with less than 50 hours Yanmar. She has just had over 50,000 spent on hull maintenance and repairs, and has been surveyed.
She is very sea kindly and regularly did runs to and from Mandurah. The masts are fibreglass, so there is very little heel, even fully canvassed, and her narrow beam gives her good entry and very balanced sailing. She can be managed by two people.
She was the home of the Kookaburra 3 crew for the defence of the Americas Cup in 1987.
I no longer live in WA so its time. She was and would be a wonderful liveaboard. Steel boats take on the water temp below, so she was cool in Summer, and warm in Winter.
No expense spared with her love and care and a recent full "birthday" leaves her ready to go. All invoices can be supplied with a big totaled spend.
An independent Marine Shipwright was commissioned by the seller prior to its marketing to conclude a full survey in May 2023 which is available for viewing.
So step out and step up as this will not last and palatial living awaits aboard this true blue ocean going yacht.
