2006 Lagoon 440 | Daruma
Recently imported into Australia after a decade long world cruise starting in Europe, Daruma is a three cabin 'owner's version' of the legendary Lagoon 440 catamaran.
The owner has spared no expense on upgrades over his 12 years of ownership, to ensure she is absolutely safe to cross oceans, yet completely comfortable for coastal cruising and long stays at any destination, no matter how remote.
A new mainsail and genoa headsail in 2021 are the perfect complement to the standing rigging that was replaced in 2017. The sail wardrobe also includes both furling gennaker and spinnaker. Solar panels, wind generator, watermaker, a Northern Lights genset and relatively large water (600L) and fuel (900L) tanks ensure self-sufficiency for long passages and out of the way adventures.
The central helm location provides great visibility for the skipper, with easy access to all lines and five electric Harken halyard and mainsheet winches that make short-handed sailing a breeze. An internal nav station provides foul weather shelter with toggle steering autopilot, chart plotter and radar. The new (2021) Axiom 12 + Axiom 9 chart plotters and instruments and dual, independent Raymarine autopilots are an added safety feature.
Accommodation is in three generous air-conditioned cabins including a large owner's hull with a twin seater lounge, queen bed and separate shower/ toilet with washing machine and an abundance of wardrobe space. The drop-down saloon creates a large extra guest berth.
The saloon integrates seamlessly with the galley to create a spacious living/dining area with direct access into the large, secure, cockpit. The trademark lounge area on the foredeck adds to the many features that make this boat the ultimate family cruising and entertaining vessel.
Big 1000amp battery capacity and large solar array includes two independent Mastervolt charge units, with auxiliary power from the (2019) 4.5kW generator. She is powered by upsized Volvo 54hp diesel engines serviced in July 2024.
