Description

Situated in the village of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – or simply DRC – is the world-famous wine producer that needs no introduction. Since 1942 the estate is co-owned by two families, the de Villaine and the Leroy, with Alexandre Bernier as cellar master following the retirement of Bernard Noblet in 2018. DRC has the monopole of two grand cru vineyards, including the eponymous Romanée-Conti, which covers 1.8 hectares of old vines. This release is from the 2009 vintage, presented in a luxurious magnum format. The wine is earthy, bold and self-assured, marked by notes of forest fruits, redcurrants, violets and cloves. A very silky texture, complemented by fine acidity and spiced finish.
