Description

Having closed in 1983, the iconic ‘ghost’ distillery Brora was relaunched by Diageo in 2021 following a painstaking three-year repair of its premises. This particular single malt expression was distilled at Brora in 1972 and bottled independently by Gordon & MacPhail. A very rare bottling with legendary status.

About this whisky

This expression from Brora is part of the Connoisseurs Choice collection by Gordon & MacPhail, distilled in 1972 and bottled in 1992. It represents the quintessential characteristics of this closed Highland distillery. Peat smoke, brine, citrus zest, with a complex finish.

Brora

The Brora distillery was a producer of single malt Scotch whisky that was located in Brora, in the Highland region of Scotland. It was originally known as Clynelish, founded in 1819. The distillery went through various periods of production and closures, eventually closing for the final time in 1983. Brora is highly regarded by whisky enthusiasts, known for its peated style, which differs from the typical Highland profile.
