Description

This is a rare and highly collectible release from the now-defunct St. Magdalene distillery in Linlithgow. Distilled in 1975 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their ‘Rare Old’ series, the whisky was matured in oak casks for three decades before being bottled at 43% ABV. On the nose, expect aromas of vanilla, honey, and a subtle floral character, as well as a touch of smoke and oak. On the palate, the whisky is smooth and elegant, with notes of dried fruit, toffee, spices, as well as a gentle smokiness and a hint of sea salt.
