A 30-year-old Port Ellen single malt that was distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2009, as the 9th Annual Release from Diageo. The nose is creamy and fruity, with hints of orange, sherry, wood, honey, Mirabelle plums and apricots. On the palate, there are plenty of grassy notes, a touch of fresh herb sauce, but also agave syrup and vanilla ice cream.

Port Ellen was a distillery located on Islay, an island renowned for its peaty Scotch whiskies. The distillery was established in 1825 by Alexander Ker Mackay. Throughout its history, Port Ellen underwent various ownerships and periods of closures, being mothballed finally in 1983. Despite its closure, the whisky distilled at Port Ellen has become highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
