Description

This Japanese whisky from the cult distillery Karuizawa was distilled in 1981 and matured for 30 years in a single sherry butt, until bottling in 2011. The nose starts with hints of rubber and burnt leaves, followed by chocolate as well as sherry, dark fruits and dried figs. The palate is peppery and dry at first, with subsequent notes of liquorice, oranges and vanilla.
