Closed for almost 40 years, Brora is the iconic single malt distillery that was relaunched by Diageo in 2021, after a comprehensive three-year restoration. This particular vintage expression was distilled at Brora in 1972 and bottled independently by Gordon & MacPhail in 1997. A very rare bottling with legendary status.

About this whisky

This exquisite single malt whisky was distilled at Brora Distillery in 1972, and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 1997 as part of their Rare Old series. Its rarity and exceptional quality are a testament to the legendary status of the now silent Brora distillery. Complex and rich, with notes of peat smoke, citrus, and a hint of sea salt, followed by a long and warming finish.

Brora

The Brora distillery was a producer of single malt Scotch whisky that was located in Brora, in the Highland region of Scotland. It was originally known as Clynelish, founded in 1819. The distillery went through various periods of production and closures, eventually closing for the final time in 1983. Brora is highly regarded by whisky enthusiasts, known for its peated style, which differs from the typical Highland profile.
