Talisker is located on the Isle of Skye, one of Scotland`s remote and rugged Hebridean islands. Founded in 1830, the distillery is known for producing a distinctive and robust style of single malt whisky that reflects the wild and windswept character of its island home. This particular expression was distilled in 1986 and aged for three decades in a combination of refill American oak hogsheads and European oak butts, before being bottled in 2017 at a strength of 45.8% ABV. The nose suggests brine, smoke, and spicy oak, along with hints of dried fruit, honey, and dark chocolate. On the palate, notes of salted caramel, roasted nuts, and a hint of peat smoke, leading to a long, warming finish with a touch of black pepper.
