Description

Distilled in the mid-sixties and blended three years later, this unique blend has lain undisturbed in two American oak hogsheads for well over half a century. Bottled at natural strength as a single cask release this is a wonderfully rare whisky, rich and mature with a majestic antique character and layers of complexity. One of only 288 bottle produced, displaying a wonderfully evocative oily nose redolent of candle wax, paraffin and Victorian stately homes, all underpinned by the generous decadence of old grain whisky. On the palate it is vibrant, spicy and mouth-coating with notes of cinnamon and a meandering sweet / dry finish. Forming part of the prestigious Charles Gordon Collection and packaged in a hand-engraved, individually-numbered decanter with an ash display box featuring gold leaf inlay.
