The Sea-Dweller ref. 1665 first debuted circa 1967 and was designed for use during saturation diving. The main differences between a Submariner — or rather Submariner Date — from the era, are the thicker case, the helium escape valve (HEV) on the left of the case, the high-domed acrylic crystal without the cyclops, and of course the additional Sea-Dweller moniker on the dial. However, this isn't your run of the mill ‘1665’... This piece features two lines of text on the dial that read: “Sea-Dweller+Submariner 2000” in red, rather than the usual white. It has since become known to collectors as the "Double Red Sea-Dweller" or DRSD. It dates to circa 1972 and features an excellent, thick 'thin' case with even lugs and no signs of polishing. The black bezel insert has taken on a faint navy fade. But the real treat with this piece is that the 'MK2' dial has changed to a gorgeous brown 'tropical' color. It shows only light wear with even patina across the Tritium plots with a matching handset. It comes fitted to a correct folded-link Oyster bracelet with a dive clasp.  A truly well-rounded package! Condition: Case: Shows normal wear throughout with thick, even lugs and sleeve polish. Dial: Well preserved showing even 'tropical' patina throughout. Faint blemish around 1:00 marker and wear between 6:00 & 7:00 markers. Some light stains and moisture markings have been professionally cleaned. The Rolex Sea-Dweller reference 126600 is a highly professional divers' watch that exemplifies the pioneering spirit of Rolex’s waterproof watches. Launched in 2017, it features an increased case diameter of 43mm and is equipped with the Caliber 3235 movement, boasting improved precision, power reserve, and resistance to shocks and magnetic fields. The watch maintains the traditional black dial and large luminescent hour markers for legibility deep underwater. Notably, this model reintroduced the date cyclops on the crystal, a feature not seen on previous Sea-Dweller models.
