*** PRICED TO SELL FOLLOWING HUGE REDUCTION - MOTIVATED SELLER *** Ready for an incredibly FUN aircraft to own and fly? This Bellanca / American Champion Aircraft 8KCAB Decathlon IS IT!
This aircraft spent the bulk of its life in Canada and was imported in early 2022. The current owner is looking to move into to a longer-range cruiser for his next personal aircraft. Hours may increase slightly as the owner flies at least once per week.
Original airframe logbook is missing but all logs are complete and continuous from 1978 onward. All are electronically scanned and ready to be viewed on our Steel Aviation website listing page. The aircraft underwent a strenuous FAA DAR conformity inspection through the import process.
Minimal damage history - A 1978 ground loop was repaired in accordance with engineering schematics and all documented in logs. A prop strike also occurred in 1982, but both engine and prop have been replaced since that time. No further damage from 1982 forward.
This Decathlon is completely ready to go. Fresh Annual was just completed in June with newly overhauled magnetos and excellent engine compressions. Numerous avionics upgrades were also added at this annual. The all new Garmin and Electronics International components are under full manufacturer warranty. Great value in all the recent TLC, including the extensive annual, recent upgrades, and new battery installed in early August.
Few planes are as capable and versatile as the Decathlon, making it uniquely deserving of the name. This wonderful example has been regularly flown by a professional airline pilot, has been well maintained and upgraded, and has been idyllically stored and cared for. Not much more that anyone could ask for, so look no further... call us today and make this one YOURS!
